This makes a mix similar to the Reduced Fat Bisquick, but it’s even lower in fat. Use it in any recipes that call for baking mix.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups (500 g) all purpose flour
  • 2 cups (240 g) whole wheat pastry flour
  • 3 tablespoons (41.5) baking powder
  • 1/3 cup (75 g) unsalted butter

Preparation

Stir flour and baking powder together. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Store in a container with a tight fitting lid.

  1. When you’re done preparing this, measure it with a good kitchen scale.
  2. Note the weight.
  3. If you intend to use it for, let say 10 times, divide its weight by 10 to know the weight of every portion you’ll be taking.
